The Perfect Dress

You know when you find that perfect dress? The one that screams your name? Well, that is what happened when I saw this blessing dress for Olivia. It was everything I wanted it to be. Simple, sweet and beautiful-the perfect dress.

Okay, ready to be done with pictures.....
And speaking of perfect....look at these cheeks!

One Month Old & Ramblings

Olivia is one month old today! She is getting so big-so fast! At her two week appointment, she went from 5lbs 15 oz to 6 lbs. 12 oz! I figure she is probably about 7 lbs now. Her cheeks are getting huge and I kiss them all day long. She has been such a good baby and last night she slept 7 hours straight. I'm always freaked out when a baby sleeps that long this early. I immediately run over and make sure she hasn't died from SIDS. I did this with Allie & Easton too. I'm such a different mom with Olivia. I don't know if it is because I'm 33 or because she is my last, but I am SO relaxed with her. She is already spoiled. I hardly ever put her down and I don't care. I NEVER let my other two sleep with me and now when Paul leaves for work I instantly put her in my bed and snuggle with her. Nothing annoys me! She can scream at me for two hours straight and all I can think about is how cute she sounds. It almost makes me feel bad for Allie and Easton-I was so stressed out and into a "schedule" with them. Olivia is reaping the benefits of a broke in(or broke down) mother. :) She will probably go to kindergarten in diapers and still have a binky just because I won't have the heart to make her do anything. haha... Anyway-we all love the spoiled little poodle!

Today we took Olivia to church for the first time. We didn't really have a choice, because Paul had to teach Sunday School and I had to teach Young Women's. I started getting everybody ready about four hours before church started and we were still late and I forgot the bottle. It was CRAZY! I'm in awe of you mother's with more than two kids! This is going to take some practice. I'm glad our church is at 1:30, or they may never see us again.

I love this dress. We bought this right after we found out she was a girl. I also love the larger than life bow and sadly, Olivia hates the bows. The minute she gets mad, she reaches up and pulls it off...WHAT!? Allie never touched hers-ever! Sorry, baby..the bow is one battle I WILL win. ;) She pulls this face all the time. I call it the "What you talkin' bout Willis?" face.

Oddly enough, I can see myself in her. (If I could get that bow any bigger- I would.)
I then tried to get a picture of the three of them. I didn't succeed very well. This was the best of about 20. As you can tell, Olivia hated every minute of it. This is pretty much how she feels about the "siblings" right now. They kind of smother her with love and she just screams her head off. One day she will realize that they are more fun than me. (Oh and yes, I color coordinated their outfits. So what?)

She still has this tiny little head. The headband flowers kind of make her look like she is wearing an old lady Easter bonnet.

She has learned how to do this VERY well... Miss Allie. I have decided to give up some of my control and let her dress herself on Saturdays. This is what she came up with. She is hilarious. (Notice the wand) She had on every piece of jewelry that she owns. I have recently recruited Allie as my walking partner. She loves to go and I love spending the one on one time with her. The world of a first grader is pretty entertaining to hear about.
She also understands her obligation and duty as the big sister to train Olivia to join the ranks of "princess mania" She was reading princess stories to her and then, ever so politely, showing her the pictures. I'm glad I had my camera right then.

And then there is Easton. He loves to hold his sister...but maybe just a little too tight. I'm always saying, "Let go of her neck!" She hates every minute of it. He has struggled a little bit with her arrival. Classic middle child stuff. Luckily, he was born to two middle children...so we get it. And we will get through it. Love his eyes...

Easton and Mr. C. We love this little boy! It is Easton's first real friend in the neighborhood and we just adore him. They are so funny together. They call each other cowboy and have the best sword fights in town. Easton just loves him and this is a big deal because Easton hasn't always played well with others...:) Oh stop it!....

Newborn Photos & Easter!

When Olivia was 11 days old, I had her pictures done and I am DYING over how cute they turned out. I was worried that they wouldn't turn out because she hated having them done. Most of them were done naked and she does not like that feeling at all! I felt like I tortured her for two hours. It worked though and I have no clue how I am going to narrow it down-here are just a few of my favorites. If you want to see the photographer's blog go here. Warning: A TON of pictures to follow!

This was her coming home outfit....she has already outgrown it. :(

EASTER 2009 - COLORING EGGS
Getting started....

Coloring eggs is serious business at our house!

Allie's finished eggs. Of course....they are princess eggs. Do you think she will ever outgrow the princess thing? I hope not! ;)

Easton's eggs. Metallic. Pretty cool huh?

My favorite part of Easter....new church clothes!

I'm not kidding when I say...

That she is smaller than a doll. This is for my family far away that hasn't got to see Olivia in person. It's hard to tell how small she is in pictures-so I used the cabbage patch as a reference. I call her my "mini-muffin" :) I bet I kiss her one thousand times a day. Love, love, love her.

One Week

I'm feeling a little sad tonight. Tomorrow morning my baby will be one week old and I hate it! I'm constantly mystified by how my life seems to be flying by. I could almost bring on a panic attack if I think about it long enough. I just want time to STOP! Don't change-don't grow up! I want my kids to stay little forever, my parents to stay young always and my face to remain wrinkle-free! ;) haha.. One week ago tonight we were headed down to the hospital because my water had broke. (I was scheduled to be started the next morning) I have always had to get started so we were both in shock when I went into labor on my own. We were at my mom and dad's when it happened and it happened within minutes after receiving a blessing from Paul and my dad. It was so fun to go into labor like that! It was a lot like in the movies. Me and Paul were running to get my bags, running into each other and laughing, no giggling, like little kids! Apparently the snow storm that night had a lot of women going into labor, because when we showed up at the hospital and told them that my water broke, they looked at me as if I had done it on purpose. The look on the nurses faces was the same as the workers at McDonald's when you order a meal five minutes before closing! haha..

So, one week later, we are all basking in the light of this baby. She is the sweetest thing ever and none of us can get enough of her. She is doing all those perfect baby things like sleeping all day and partying all night, so while I am starting to feel the effects of sleep deprivation, I don't care...I can sleep when she is four! For now, I'm going to sit in my rocking chair and as my mom says, "let the world go by." I have a sweet newborn and I'm going to enjoy every moment with her.
Paul is in the height of his glory. I really wish everyone could see him and see what an amazing dad he is. He took all this week off work and has gotten up every night with Olivia and let me steal a few hours of sleep. He is such a hands-on-dad and I don't take that for granted. Last week after Olivia was born, I watched him hold her and I realized (not for the first time) how lucky I am that I have him to make these memories with. I'm so proud of the family we have built together...

Anyway, here are a few pictures of Olivia. She hasn't changed much in a week. She is still so tiny! She really is smaller than most dolls, but it won't stay that way for long the way she eats. :)

{Please stay little just a little longer!}

She looks so teeny tiny in her carseat. Oh, and the ridiculously HUGE bow is "baby-speak" for "Hello world...I'm a GIRL!" ;)

Eating with Dad....
A princess (aka...Allie) feeding her baby sister. Allie went to the play Beauty and the Beast and all the little girls dressed up. So, no...she doesn't walk around the house with this get-up on!
I love a newborns hands and feet almost more than anything.

In every ultrasound picture this is how Olivia's hands were. We could never get a real good view of her face. She sleeps like this all the time. So sweet!
